A Non Functioning Nokia Communicator Prototype On Display
The future of the Nokia Communicator some say, look bleak. It wasn't too long ago I was in a local big box retailer inquiring about any news regarding a new Nokia Communicator and was told simply, "It's not gonna happen".
So, the seven Communicators we have now, is that it? Will there seriously never be a new Communicator released? I was pretty sure an end of an era was amongst us, that is until I saw this:
"...the tech giant will also introduce new devices-laptop hybrid-type phone which will appeal to enterprise customers. At first glance, the device is similar to the Nokia Communicator."
So with that in mind, let us all cross our fingers for the best and hope for a new clamshell phone bearing the "Communicator" moniker!
Update January 2018
Although no knew Communicators have been announced, Nokia has in fact gone into the phone business again. The good news is that the new Nokia phones have been well received. This means that a new Nokia Communicator, even if not called a Communicator will more than likely be in the works.
Nokia is very well known for their appeasement of business users, and there's no time like the present to step up their game and make an impact on the smart phone business world like they did with their original Nokia 9000.
